This parish is located at the heart city of Agoo, in La Union and well-known for a miraculous saints and fulfilling your achievements, goals and pledges in life.

HOLY GUARDIAN ANGEL PARISH, STO. THOMAS
This next-stop chapel who became "messenger of peace across the sea" that delivers to honour and love as their children of God and also, a miraculous saint and its mission of clergy, religious and laity. 


OUR LADY OF FATIMA, BURGOS
This parish is establish in 1845 by a parish priest, Fr. Santiago Romero who propagated the devotion to Blessed Virgin Mary: "Virgin of the Rosaries."

This chapel found on the apparition of Virgin Mary of the Poor and all begin the story of a young lady, Bernadette Soubiroux, 14 who devoted to Virgin Mary on February 11, 1858 as a first apparition.

I'm going to the church's sacrificial dinner with my Mom, and two aunts. While waiting for the dinner, we take the mass for a thanksgiving and then, we enjoy the "meaningful" dinner to give-thanks to our patron saint, St. Joseph - the worker.

Going Kawaii

"In full-bloomed Kawaii Kompartment Box"


Kawaii (or Cute in Japanese) box dress it on from plain to fab bloom. Perfect for you personal or important stuff for your compartments.

MATERIALS:

  • Old box
  • Pencil
  • Scissors*
  • Glue gum*
  • Ruler
  • Floral-print Gift wrapper
  • Tapes
  • Plastic cover (and)
  • Ribbon (optional depending on your bow styles)

*Use it with adult supervision

PROCEDURE:
  1. Measure the gift wrapper both inside and out using your pencil as a marker.
  2. Cut the pattern and put it inside the box, secure with glue gun stick.
  3. Cover the outside with the wrapper and secure it with clear tape.
  4. Once you cover and to secure it away from water resistance, cover-up with plastic cover into the decorate box.
  5. For finishing touches, personalize it with 7" x 4.5" inch plastic compartment for your nameplate and secure your bow-tie ribbon applique with glue gun.
  6. NOTE: Good for school and office supply compartment box.

Halo-halo Popsicle

Halo-halo with a twist! So, beat the summer heat with this cool must-have. Kids who love this treat!


INGEDIENTS:
  • 4 cups of crushed ice
  • 2 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 spoon of steamed sweet banana
  • 1 spoon of taro paste or ube
  • 1 spoon of palm roots or kaong
  • 1/4 cup of water
PROCEDURE:
  • Mix all the ingredients in the blender until it looks like smoothie
  • Put the mixture in the Popsicle moulder or in the plastic cups and cover-up with aluminum foil to secure the Popsicle sticks
  • Chill-it in the freezer for about 2-3 hours or overnight
  • Serve it well 
Good for 3-4 servings

Vegetarian Kare-Kare with Chickpea Meatballs




In last week's lenten season, no meats allowed as part of sacrifices to eat more healthy food like veggies and seafood for a God's taste.

INGEDIENTS
FOR CHEEKPEA MEATBALLS:
  • 2 cans of Chickpeas, drained
  • 1 can buttom Mushroom, drained
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/2 cup Flour or Cornstarch
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1 packed Bread Crumbs
  • 250 mL vegetable oil
FOR KARE-KARE:
  • 2 packs Kare-kare mix, dissolved with water
  • 1 can sliced button Mushroom, drained
  • 1 bundle Eggplant, sliced
  • 1 bundle native Petchay
  • 1 bundle String Beans
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 piece red Onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
PROCEDURE:
FOR CHEEKPEA MEATBALLS:
  1. Crush-down cheekpeas into puree
  2. Chopped mushrooms in the blender into fine chop
  3. Combine all mixture with flour and season it with salt and pepper and mix well
  4. Form into meatballs and coated with bread crumbs
  5. Chilled meatballs in the freezer for 2-3 hours or overnight
  6. Deep fry chickpea meatballs with boiling oil for about 10 minutes or until golden brown and set aside
FOR KARE-KARE:
  1. In a saucepan, saute garlic and onions with cooking
  2. Add mushrooms and kare-kare mix and stir it well
  3. Add 1 liter of water and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes with occasionally stir
  4. While boiling, add veggies and let it simmer for 5 minutes
  5. After simmer, add chickpea meatballs and continue to stir
  6. Served with Shrimp paster or Bagoong and rice 
*good for 5-6 servings

Before the outing, I decided to NOT going-out with my mom for a Bulacan trip after I never experiencing this during my high school freshmen for field trips in Bulacan but, we don't have it any expenses like among others. But now, I gave now a chance to visit the most-oldest and historic churches in the country bu centuries.
