Event: OLOPS College and guest/alumni Christmas party
Location: Renaissance Hotel & Convention Center, Riverbanks, Marikina City

It was the night to remember for the kids of this college too fun, hippy and cool party like no tomorrow and it exact to their latest theme called "Retro Fever" it even they born from the 90's, they suit their young ones at a lifetime.
From throwback costumes (e.g., Madonna, Elvis Presley, etc.), cocktail drinks and to the cool stuff freebies to take-home for it like Smartphones, accessories, etc. And in this pictures, the before-during-after Aurora Borealis-inspired disco lights with sounds including oldies, but goodies music.
I really-really thankful for this opportunity to this best-party night event, EVER!

Tuna-Celery pasta salad

Salad is a mixed-up dish like fruits and veggies that usually in the various occasion or daily needs.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 kg spaghetti noodles (cooked)
  • 2 sticks of celery (chopped)
  • 1 cup spring onions (chopped)
  • 1 canned tuna flakes in oil (drained)
  • 2 cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 1 large-sized white onions (chopped)
  • 1/2 kg regular bacon (baked to perfection)
  • 1 cup greated cheese
  • 1 1/2 cup butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
PROCEDURE:
  1. Cook pasta on a big pot with boiled water in about 4 minute or depending on their packaging, then set-aside
  2. Reheat the oven for 3 minutes the, bake 5-10 bacon strips with 10 minutes or until the bacon is crispy
  3. Saute onions, garlic, and tuna flakes in the pan with melted butter, season with salt and pepper to taste
  4. Sprinkle with spring onions and celery
  5. Toss it with cooked pastas with cheese
  6. Serve hot and with desired salads on the side 
Good for 4-5 servings

Longganisa Rice

Fried rice is usually a comfort food every breakfast morning and also, eat-well as lunch or dinner time.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup rice (usually, as left-over)
  • 1 egg (scrumbled, the fry)
  • 2 pieces longganisa (unskinned until ground meat)
  • 1 1/4 teasespoon soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teasespoon tomato sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (sliced)
  • 1 small red onions (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
PROCEDURES:
  • Cook 1 scumbled egg in a cooking pan with 1/2 cup cooking oil then, set aside
  • Saute garlic, onions and unskinned longganisa for 5-10 minutes
  • Seasoned with soy sauce, salt and pepper when simmer
  • Put 2 cups of rice and stir-it well and add tomato sauce
  • Slice scrumbled egg into a strip and put it in fried meaty rice until continuous stirring
  • Serve with your favorite breakfast meals 
Good for 4 servings

A good food taste so, good on-the-go when you take a teacup of coffee or eating a breakfast pancakes. This brunch resto offers breakfast, buffets, delis, etc.
This resto is located along Maginhawa and Makadios streets in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City and also offers an other services like walk-in welcome, reservations and more. And perfect for the brain food for students and office workers who have no-time to cook for it. This store is open daily (except Monday) from 7:00am to 8:00am.

DIY Project: Paper Windmill-in-a-vase



MATERIALS:

For windmill:

  • Colored paper or Old glossy magazines
  • Chopsticks
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Scissor*
  • Safety pin*
  • Mini-Hammer*

For vase:

  • Old glossy magazines (cut-outs into collage)
  • Paper or plastic cups (from a noodle packaging)
  • White glue with water
  • Painter's brush
  • Scissor*

*Use with under parent's supervision

PROCEDURES:

For windmill:

  • Make a measure of 7 by 7-inch (17.5 by 17.5-cm) square of a piece of colored paper.
  • Trace 4 diagonal lines into the corner of a square toward the center and marked in the middle dot square to the diagonal cross.
  • Cut 3 inch diagonal lines each corners, do not cut up-to  4 inches.
  • To make the corners to secure with a pin, use your fingers to fold edges 1,2,3 and four to the center of the square.
  • To remove the pin, place, hold the edge down with your fingers and change it with ball pin and cut the ball pin short to the end.
  • For safety,yet-finishing touches, dip a stick of chopstick square into the water then let it a little dry before push a pin.
  • Press it gently the pin into the stick and hammer-it for secure the slickness of a windmill. DO NOT PRESS HARDLY THE PIN TO PREVENT ACCIDENT.
  • Test it by manually spinning it.
  • Makes 2-3 windmill flowerettes.
For vase:
  • Cut 5-6 pieces of magazine cutouts.
  • Combine white glue and water in one cup
  • Paint it with white glue with water and brush in to the cup outside.
  • While the glue is wet, stick the magazine cutouts outside the cup.
  • Let it dry up to 10-25 minutes or until dry the surface.
  • Then, put the windmill flowerettes to the vase with a secure of mini-solid rocks or floral foams.

DYI Project: Loud Speaker

Loud Speaker (Cellphone not included)
Loud speaker is a newest simple and well-economic friendly gadget for smartphone usage to make music-listener friendly.

MATERIALS:

  • 1 liter of empty plastic bottle
  • 2-3 pieces of Old-glossy magazine page
  • Glue
  • Scissor*
  • Cutter*
  • Lighter*
  • Marker
  • Paint and paint brush (if desired to paint-off)
*Use it with adult supervision

PROCEDURES:

  • Cut the upper funnel of a plastic bottle with cutter and the smaller part of a bottom.
  • Mark-down the bellow-bottom of a cut-out bottle and use your cellphone as a measure-fit into a long rectangular hole.
  • After that, put a little fire a sharp-cut out of a bottle for safety purpose.
  • For finishing touches, paint-it with acrylic paint (with your chosen colors to customized) with paint brush [or]
  • Cover-up with magazine-page papers (or use as paper-mache method) then, stick together with white glue.

There's a time to pick-up those preparations, potlucks and many more and it's important to bring him a surprise treat for a big day. Even it's delayed, importantly happy together as a job.
Someday, will take a new place to visit for once-in-a-life birthday party experience (hopefully.) Next birthdays will takes on-location like out-of-town/country parties like in Cebu or Hong Kong for great example.

DIY: Chichen Crochet with Kangkong salad

Rainy day diet blues? No problem with this healthy dish with local green-leafy goodness.

INGREDIENTS:
for chicken crochet:
  • 3-piece chicken fillet (left-over, pilled)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 egg 
  • salt and pepper to taste
for kangkong salad:
  • 1-string kangkong leaves
  • 1  1/4 tablespoon water (boiled)
  • salt to taste
PROCEDURE:
  • Combine flour, salt and pepper and egg (beat-well.) Mix well until thicken.
  • Add pilled chicken to the mixture and continue to mix.
  • Fry in a non-stick pan with a little-bit of oil and formed into patties and set-aside.
  • For kangkong, put a 1  1/4 tablespoon water (boiled) in a pan then put kangkong and blanched a little for 5-10 seconds (do not overcook) and season with salt.
  • Cut crochet patties into quarters and toast it with kangkong blanched, served with lettuce and season salad dressings.
SERVINGS: 2-3 person

Virabhadrasana II (Warrior II)*
